The staff was super friendly and my wife loved her drink. I always hated that person that came through the line on their phone, and I did exactly that to them. They responded like champs and served up excellent service and coffee

Always enjoy stopping in to get a latte or iced caramel macchiato when it's hot! Takes some time if several people are there.

I give a 2-star rating (as opposed to a 1) because I think your place is in a good location and has potential. I would be willing to give you another chance and encourage my wife's extensive family in Americus to go to your place if I knew there were firm guidelines and positive policies that could ensure a good service experience for customers that wasn't based on the "BITTER" or "sweet" whims of various employees.

So my wife and I take our 3 year old daughter with us up to the line. She had been talking loudly about ice cream the whole time we had been "BITTER-sweet". My mother in law stayed on the couch with our other two kids. So, we watch the guy finish the last drink for the teenagers and we are finally up and ready to order. We were prepared to spend at least $50 DOLLARS.

The man looked at us stone faced and said we couldn't order any drinks or ice cream because he had shut down all the machines. It still wasn't even 4pm yet. I was in shock because we had just watched him finish making the drinks for the teenagers. He lied to us. It was obvious he just wanted to get off his shift and did not care about the business or us as a family or about how much money we would have spent.

We left and did not make a fuss about being mistreated. The BITTER employee did let me purchase an over-priced shirt I had been holding in line. I got it because it said AMERICUS on the back, but I kind of regret it because it says "BITTER-sweet" on the front and I can't in good conscience endorse the place (as of now).

I can't imagine this is the policy of the business or that the owner would approve of these unprofessional & rude & dishonest behaviors from its employees... I see the apparent OWNER replying to certain reviews. Could you please reply to mine and let me know what your closing policy is with customers. Do you approve how my family was treated and misled? If not, would you kindly address this issue with the employee.

This experience occurred at the store on Wednesday July 5th, 2017, only a few days ago. After I read CHRISTY RECKE'S review it sounded very similar to our experience. I wonder if it was the same employee who mistreated her family? I wonder if many others have had a similar experience but just did not take the time to write a review?

Thank you for reading my review and taking my words into consideration.

Looking for coffee and heard the ad on the radio. As we are here on vacation, we like to eat at locally own places, coffee good and coffee cake even better.

My family had high hopes upon entering "BITTER-sweet" in downtown Americus, Georgia. Sadly, we left in shock and dismay at how poorly we were treated. We are from Virginia Beach, Virginia and were visiting my wife's family. We went to downtown Americus on our last day with our three little children and my mother-in-law.

We went from store to store in the stifling heat for a few hours and then stopped into "BITTER-sweet" to get some iced coffee and ice cream, especially for my 3 year old daughter that had been constantly asking for it. We entered at 3:40pm. There was about seven teenagers with some youth group waiting in line to get drinks made.

My going to Bittersweets took me to another World mentally washing away all of today's anxieties. Just relaxing. Five Stars!

We sat down on the couch and waited for the line to shrink. When there was about two teenagers left to get orders. The 30-something, 6ft-ish man working came to the door and put the keys in and looked at us with a BITTER face. I checked my phone and saw that it was 3:55pm at that moment. We didn't realize it closed at 4pm but regardless we had entered at 3:40pm.
